Good luck wiping away the tears that fade
Before they reach your eyes
Good luck smiling when you can't scratch off
That fake smile where your mouth should be
Give me the knife.
Good luck learning to love again when your heart
Has been replaced by that block of stone
Good luck feeling better when the only place you feel
Is where the crimson stains on your pale skin come from
Hand it over.
I wipe off the blood and the tears
That aren't really there
And try to get your face to truly smile...
Because I CARE.
You say you don't want to hurt the people that do care
Well, good luck with that
If you can't even stop hurting yourself.

Wow. I love this poem. It has such a personal touch to it, yet many many people can relate to this. I love that you dedicated it not only to your friend, but to everyone that thinks no one really cares. Thank you so much for writing this piece.
