I can see you
at the mouth of this endless tunnel
a silhouette against the light
like a shadow on the sun
I want to move closer
but the gap between us will not close
and I cannot tell if your eyes want to see me or not
for you are too far away
Yet I still reach for you within that light
regardless of my weakness
despite the threat of new scars
for one cannot touch the sun without being burned

Let alone embrace it...
I like the way your muse took you in this. Your image was strong and relatable. We often fear reaching out for that which is not a sure thing. Our fear holds us back from making that leap, letting go of the horse to reach for that brass ring. Anyway, I liked this. I'm very glad to be given the chance to read it...
