Stronger

This little girl
I’ve been around to watch her grow
Into something truly beautiful
She’s stronger than she thinks she is
I see in her what she doesn’t

I’m on the outside looking in
The scars and cuts I can’t pretend
That aren’t there
She feels no one is listening
But, at in the end she’ll fight another day

Home is what they say you have peace
Home is what they say you should be safe
For her it’s not so
She’s stronger than she thinks she is
I see the beauty she doesn’t feel
But, that well never be enough for me

Author notes

This poem is based on the life of one of my friends and she gave me the inspiration to write this as she gives me inspiration to write alot of things.

    Very Inspirational

I can't give you any professional criticism,as I am not a poet, know very little about the techniques. I started trying to write prose, though my poetic style is jumbled. I enjoyed the mixed emotions that you conveyed with this piece; The care, and love,Your unselfish attitude, and encouragement. These are amazing qualities!

I'm guessing that there is some little girl in your life that is growing up... this is the second poem I have read about a little girl growing up... Great job.
