while waiting in the doctor's office

my arm traverses your shoulder
much too thin
- emaciated

we came here 3 months ago
hopeful and whole
damning the devil that hid within

a specter of yourself
today you sit in silence

while I curse
the man who holds your life
within his hands

Real sorry to learn of your heartache, I can see that penning this poem was hard. Yet you hold on to the beautiful memories!

Thank you so much for your comment and your support of my poetry. It means a great deal to me. Since my mother-in-law was recently diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer this one is just a bit too close to home.
