echo

what happened to our god-given freedom?
we live in a Christian nation
that complete negates us.
abide by laws, rules, and norms,
that attempt to make
us all the same...

we hide our individuality,
until their is nothing left to hide,
anymore...
then we're "praised"
for our conformity

let's give the dog a biscuit
when he behaves

echo, echo
my voice is sounding
weak and hollow,
although, I know
the more I let go,
it's worse to follow

let's praise our individuality
with every step we take,
resist the urge to conform,
resist the need
to sacrifice your freedom

let's give the dog a biscuit,
just for being itself

Please tell me what you think

i love the points of your poems they are so true. people are punished to be unique, the cliques at school is a prime example. that is where people learn it and when the cliques move into the real world they cause real trouble. but why is our freedom god given? or am i missing the point of the first stanza, religion is the most sheepest conformity of them all. i know more about Christianity then half the Christians. they don't even know what they claim to beleive.

the 2nd and third line of the first stanza are suppose to seperate god-given from freedom, i like to put something on the table and take away/separate rather than shape/form into a whole
