in our small way
into tall
- twenty storey -
buildings
This time one man died
one minute after take-off
and two were jolted off the couch:
programmus interruptus
The doctor in the ground floor suite
considered whether to cancel
the last appointment of the day
The fuselage is still embedded
in the window
but the neighbours have returned
for dinner
Author notes
meant to be ironic (in case the reader thinks I'm being flippant)
Rip away.

I can but see a petite mort ...
but then, zara, you know I always state the obvious.
You are clever AND have common sense ... a good combination. Well I think you are beautiful, too. Now you may become dangerous!
And I do feel guilty that I did not read you more.

off couch: programmus interruptus
the doctor in the ground

the considerate waiter
pressed cancel

Inspired by a real event I guess telling from the comments of the other two Vancouverites down there, yet certainly not necessary for the poem.
Who doesn't crash into buildings? .. leaving damage stuck both inside ourselves, inside what we've hit and the areas surrounding the crash site. But some how life goes on despite our crashes
dinner, sunset, sunrise and the birds fly south for the winter.
