ODE TO MARGRET
Thank you babe for being a friend, you were there when I needed you right to the end,
Your sense of humor, helped pull me through, without you there I wouldn’t know what to do, you kept me sane, although my pain, it was your happy go lucky a cheerful refrain, it made me feel human and wanted as well, as I went through my particular own brand of hell,
You made me laugh, when I was feeling down, you made me smile when I was wearing a frown, your common sense was a tonic for me, when I so wracked with anger, I couldn’t see, the straight or the narrow, the right or the wrong, I’m feeling much better, sorry it took so long, my life is much better than what it was, I count my blessings of which you are one, I have two others, my mum and my son,
I write you this poem, in praise of you’re strength, you’re tenacity, and of course your patience in staying with me, I thank you again, from the bottom of my heart. You were there to listen when I ranted and raved, moaned and groaned, my soul you did save,
Without you there to cock me an ear, I would not have survived of that I’ve no fear,
She off my computer, she’s out of my hair, I fought a good fight and I fought it fair,
My backbone was set in rigidity, but I quite forgot, you can’t fight stupidity, but now I have learned a lesson, it seems, they have each other, oh that is true, but I got the best because I have you,
