Mom

You say things are going to be okay.
That this is all a phase.
Thats a lie.
We both know I'm like my dad.
Thats something you can't denie.

Atleast he was there for me when he could be.
Theres things I really wish you could just see.
You don't even know the real me.

You only know what people have told you.
Half of the things arn't even true
You wan't me to believe you too?

You told me he didn't care.
You told me he'd never be there.
He was.
He does.

When I told you I hated you mom.
I mean't it.
I don't love you even a tad bit.
And you wonder why.
Blame every mistake on me.
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
Go ahead start a fight
You'll never be right

He cares.
He does.

Please tell me what you think

The complete opposite with me and my father. He never cared for me... I always wished for a father that would do so... Im happy for you that you have that.

    Great write.

aww thats a really good poem, i have father issues.. but mine plain and simply is an asshole! I especially like this part ''When I told you I hated you mom.
    I mean't it.
I don't love you even a tad bit.
    And you wonder why.
    Blame every mistake on me.
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
    Go ahead start a fight
    You'll never be right''
The whatever helps you sleep at night is such a good thing to put in there, which isn't said much in poems but really works well. Good write. from jaz x
