I went to my garden,
Saw rows and rows of beans and peas,
Potatoes and tomatoes,
Cabbage too. Saw all of these
And I was thankful for my country home.
I went to my basement,
Saw jars and jars of fruit and jell,
Vegetables and meat,
Pickles too, we lie so well
And I was thankful for my country home.
I arrange my table,
With vegetables and salad greens, Spring chicken fried in butter,
Fruit dessert topped with cream
And I was thankful for my country home.
