softly, its reflection
ripples gently as swans
with slender necks drift by.
The trees are silent
leaves unmoving, so tranquil.
Drinking in the wonder
ignites,
passion and desire
you thought were long
since lost.
Author notes
Ok this is the first ever free verse I have ever written. So hard when you are used to rhyming everything. Hope it is the sort of thing you are looking for.
Ok this is my 100th poem. I have to say I didn't notice that I had written so many so it isn't an extra special one as such...unless you count the fact that it's the only non~rhyming poem I've ever done....

This is very well written poem, especially if it is your only non-rhyming one! I really like the gentle tone of this poem... the imagery is wonderfully done and I think it was a very deserving honorable mention winner!
Keep writing

A Very Beautiful and Very Wise Poem
This is a very beautiful and very wise poem. It is also gentle and calming as it reminds us of the restorative effect that the beauty of nature can bring to us. It gives a lot to the reader in a very tranquil way, which makes it all the more beautiful for me. Thankyou so much for writing this poem and reminding me. I wish you All Good Luck in the competition and Congratulations on the HM Trophy. I loved this poem. Take care of yourself. All my very best wishes from Rose xxx

This is sometimes what I like to read: a short poem, that doesn't over do it, and gives gentle imagery for the reader to bask in.
A lovely poem that you have written here.
