..so softly

Sunlight sleeps softly...
in the heart of my love
she waits for me like the dawn in the east
for the world to turn to smiling kiss
embraced in the warmth of her glow;

when she rises
lifting me in her powers
enthralled in the splendor of caring touch,
and I will not lose her again
not to cloud or darkness,
or the rolling tides of time;

Sunlight sleeps softly...
in the eyes of my love
I see the beauty of her soul
as dusk over still blue water;

she washes over my spirit
reaching into my depths, to find
a place where my voice speaks
without disguise, and I cannot deny
my love.

In still of night melted
in sleeping sunlight,
I find  new passion and breathe
embers into flames, and she speaks
in whispers meant only for my ear;
gazing upon a  face of love...so softly.

    Good job on the poem. My favorite lines would have to be: In still of night melted
    in sleeping sunlight,
    I find new passion and breathe
    embers into flames, and she speaks
    in whispers meant only for my ear;
    gazing upon a face of love...so softly

    Great job and good luck in the contest!

    Wonderful

    A lovely write, romantic and loving.

    she washes over my spirit
    reaching into my depths, to find
    a place where my voice speaks
    without disguise, and I cannot deny
    my love.

    Such an outstanding verse. Few can deny the ones we love. Best of luck in the contest!

    This is quite a lovely romantic piece, the sun metaphor is beautiful. I loved "Sunlight sleeps softly...
    in the heart of my love
    she waits for me like the sun in the east
    for the world to turn to smiling kiss
    embraced in the warmth of her glow" Best of luck in the contest!
