We hold the answers in our hands,
We just don't know it yet.
If we aren't a part of the solution,
Then we are a part of the problem.
The key to saving a people
Lies inside of us,
We must release it and
Make a difference in the world.
If we believe in the power we have within ourselves,
We can make the necessary change
To rescue countless lives.
Pain and suffering,
Horrors we wouldn't wish even on our enemies
Are happening in this world each and every day,
And so far we have done very little to stop it.
Ignorance won't make the problem go away,
It will only struggle to soothe your guilty conscience,
And make you an incredible jerk.
You have to act before it's too late,
And as of yet you are still the bystander
That does nothing.
You are no better than the villains
That perform these acts,
Because knowing these things are wrong
Isn't enough,
You must correct it.
So instead of pretending the issue doesn't exist,
Do something about it.
Change the world.
Author notes
STOP GENOCIDE IN SUDAN
We can make a difference for Darfur, we just have to make an effort. We can't continue to be so lazy and ignorant, we can't just sit back, we have to act.

This is...awesome. Like, exactly what I've been trying to say. Really, this is great! I agree wit Silvos, I hope everybody reads this and thinks upon it, if not acts upon it. Great job! It's so...heartwrenching, knowing that the people who can make the greatest difference (Sudanese sympathizers, other governments, etc.) aren't, or aren't getting a lot done. Though there is only so much they can do, it's hard seeing nothing done, isn't it?
Thanks for entering!

Wow.. I love this, I hope everybody reads this and acts. The world is a cruel place, and its the people who occupy it that will show it its end. This is a factial, well written poem. Keep writing.
Good luck in the contest,
Silvos.
