Wise men often say
Fools rush in too fast
They leap before they look
And their love will never last
Each time I hear your voice
See the twinkle in your eye
I think on this one thing:
How love can we deny?
When this emotion grips my breast
When these feelings fill my mind
When I look into my future
And thoughts of you are all I find
When my heart then skips a beat
At the words I hear you say
And when I long to hold you
Every minute of the day
How can I deny it all?
How can I say no?
I prefer to take all caution
And to the wind it throw
And now I say quite boldly
For you my love is true
Whilst wise men wag their heads
I'll be a fool for you
Author notes
I believe it was Elvis Presley who sang "Wise men say only fools rush in... but I can't help falling in love with you". I've always liked that song, and now I've written my own twist to it. I tried to do so once before but wasn't entirely happy with the results. I like this a little better.
