Look at this tapestry
All tattered and torn
The threads are quite bare
And the colour's forlorn
Once woven perfection
Vibrant and strong
Now mended and patched up
With stitches made wrong
I sure hope you don't mind
My second-hand heart
It's been cut up and sewn up
And torn all apart
But the thing you must always
Remember 'tis true
This second-hand heart
Belongs just to you
The edges are jagged
It's been broken and bruised
Has loved and has lost
And been quite ill-used
But much more important
Than tatters and tears
It beats very strongly
Whenever you're near
I sure hope you don't mind
My second-hand heart
It's been cut up and sewn up
And torn all apart
But what you must always
Remember 'tis true
This second-hand heart
Belongs just to you
Never forget it
Never doubt that it's true
This tender emotion
Belongs just to you
I've said it before
I'll say it again
You're my love and desire
My very best friend
And I hope you will keep it
My second-hand heart
It's been cut up and sewn up
And torn all apart
But the thing you must always
Remember 'tis true
This second-hand heart
Was meant just for you
Author notes
I think this might make a good song because of the repeated, though slightly altered stanzas. I don't have any ideas on a melody though.

It would make a good song.
The title caught my eye. Perhaps a cliché idea, but much better than all of the other attempts at this concept I have seen!
It was very sweet and you rhymed it nicely.
If I ever meet anyone new, no doubt this will be going through my mind!
