Misery's Comfort

Feel the heart collapse-
sensation overwhelms-
as veins resort to pruning-
and soul flutters against the cage
of marrow and of snow.
Breath condenses-
nerves short ciruit-
ignite the qualms of pain-
a shriek, a wretch, a grasp toward Star
a peace installed, a night grown still.

    Dark.

In the darkness of night a peace of mind awaits,
    should you want it.Very good.

When I first read the title of this it made me think of Stephen King's Misery... have you read it?.. if not, the main character has a series of books (I can only remember the names of the last two - Misery's Child and Misery's Return)... the title drew me in and your words captured me once here...

    Keep writing

Dark and deep... oh come now, sleep!

The emotional beauty of this poem reaches out in very special ways. Stimulating and lovely in its own way, this is a fine write.
