On Christmas day I'd like to see,
My beautiful baby smile at me,
The shining light her eyes possess,
Makes my heart leap I must confess,
On Christmas morn' I'd like to hear,
Voices full of Christmas cheer,
Children smiling full of glee,
Makes this day so special to me,
At Christmastime I'd love to go,
Running through the whitest snow,
But I'm far too old for that anymore,
So I watch over the children as they explore,
On Christmas day I shed a tear,
For those of us who are not here,
I say a prayer and bow my head,
Think loving words for them instead,
This Festive season I shall see,
All of those who are dear to me,
Those loving arms that hug me tight,
God bless them all this Christmas night.
