everything I can't have
my name is Tantalus,
my intentions were true
gave the ultimate sacrifice
offered everything I had
my name is Tantalus,
my intentions were true
punished for my attempts
for offering all I had
my name is Tantalus,
my intentions were true
Author notes
The first in my series about lore.
About Tantalus of Greek lore. He was said to have offered his son, chopped up and served in stew, to the gods to be put in their good graces. Greedy though he was, I don't believe he realized he was doing wrong. He was punished by being forced to spend an eternity in a pool of water with a low-branched tree of fruit just above him. If he tried to reach the fruit, the branch pulled from his reach. If he tried to drink from the pool, the water immediately receded. In a way, I think we can all relate to Tantalus, if we think about it.
This one hasn't yet been edited... wow, I have a lot I have to edit, that I haven't gotten around to yet. I was just putting my ideas on paper.
