The world you will grow up in
Is not empty and was not made
Especially with you in mind.
But you will inherit it, you and
All the other grand children.
To say that this world you have
Been given is imperfect would
Be to imply some other world
Is perfect and that would be
Wrong for this world is perfect.
It will take you your entire life
To understand this for it has
Taken me my whole life too.
You are not the first, but it will
Always seem to you that you are.
“Share and play fair” that is my
Only advice to you for you are
A sweet grandchild and unless
This imperfect world defeats you,
You will remain so, I am sure.
Leave your campsite clean.
Leave water in the pump and
Some wood for a fire, and maybe
Some matches and some food.
This then is your grandfather’s clause.

The world is perfect, it is tose that walk the land, that are imperfect. For mankind, rapes the planet of all that makes it our home.

Few of us will be able to say that we leave the world a better place when our time is done. It is my wish that I never do harm to any living being, whether animal vegetable or mineral, but I know in my heart that I will fail. Leave the campsite clean...good advice to follow. We can only do the best we can.

This is really good but I'm sure you'll get mixed views on this one

Gottfried Leibniz, German Philosopher about 1708 ~ 300 years ago. Said the same thing you've said here. He maintained that it was a perfect world. Voltaire ridiculed him in a play called Candide.
It's too bad you've not fixed this as it would be a fairly decent poem without that perfect world bit. -
Sorry. I disagree.
This world is not perfect, never has been and never will be. -
I not only appreciate your sound advice but have through compassions followed it myself all along. No one suggests it's a perfect world. However, there are those who through fates grace have been wearing blinders judging others on issues they themself will never be exposed to. So same rules of concideration of others should apply ,don't you agree? You make a good point in thoughts in this. Thanks for writing from the mind and soul.
