Eden

Spoken

Digging deeper into images
while bleeding on film
Grinding eyes with sandpaper hallucinations
while kissing mannequins to find
solace from disturbances
when raw is the best way to feel

Sung
Doubling the lithium to balance the lies
while swimming in darkness to feel alive
This catastrophe of existence disconnects the sinners
until death becomes a communion and salvation

People die in nightmares
and imagination turns to dust
There's a celebration of the tormented
while Eden turns to rust

Infestations in the eyes
blind the soul to joy
Salt in wounds stimulates the agony
and misery becomes an art and pleasure

Watching glass dissolve to sand
and kerosene burn the soul
Seeing crucifixions on the television
while playing hide and seek with God

People die in nightmares
and imagination turns to dust
There's a celebration of the tormented
while Eden turns to rust
Mirages linger inside the head
swallowing sand in exile for the dead
Enslaved to sin, it's only human
to rot in this disintegrated skin

Descend and crumble, cry and crack
injected full of phobias
Sunrises erase memories as parasites crawl
while delirium is inhaled through the smoke

Smiles are lost in wicked feelings
as we torch the Earth in mania
until shadows drown faith
and every day becomes the same

People die in nightmares
and imagination turns to dust
There's a celebration of the tormented
while Eden turns to rust
Mirages linger inside the head
swallowing sand in exile for the dead
Enslaved to sin, it's only human
to rot in this disintegrated skin

Spoken
Forgive me Father for I have sinned
I have trespassed against you
and recklessly destroyed what was not mine
and the desire to control existence
Amen

People die in nightmares
and imagination turns to dust
There's a celebration of the tormented
while Eden turns to rust
Mirages linger inside the head
swallowing sand in exile for the dead
Enslaved to sin, it's only human
to rot in this disintegrated skin

"when raw is the best way to feel."
Some of the lines in your poetry claw to me because they will be phrases or words that have been stuck in my head awhile and then I see them in print. Raw and Real, I say that allot, your poetry is more amazing then even words can say and there are many of those. I love the descriptions of words, the complexity of the world lithium is always something but in the words around it it's even more if that makes any sense. I defenitely realte to "injected full of phobias" because it rings very true to me, since I'm afraid of doctors it's almost ironic. Eden turning to rust is a beautiful line that says beyond surface so much that all you can do is be silent to admire the horror and truth of it. I want to see you in a book one day, I hope I do (or on the radio, I just read it was meant to be a song which makes sense due to the chorus, but it doesn't get old)

    Damn....

this is incredibly deep... for me... puts a visual of all that is ugly within this world... but so beautifully penned... Your word choice is absolutely amazing.

The 10th stanza(?) is by far the most powerful part of this incredibly deep poem!!! I could just keep rereading it over and over and over... Good job and thank for sharing it.

Any feelings? Does awe count as a feeling?
