She didn’t see it, she still doesn’t see it
A sweet little boy of 7 months
He’s hurting, he’s neglected
She is the one causing his grief
Unable to understand, she truly doesn’t see
This little boy needs love, a family
Empty eyes, hallowed expression
His soul cries for attention
Spoiled, arrogant, a first time mother at 16
Her chief concerns - herself and being a teenager
A teen no more, yet she refuses to see
Adulthood should dictate her conduct
Undeserving of this wonderful child
She’s irresponsible, a menace to his welfare
Believing its temporary, she lives in darkness
Motherhood’s forever, a commitment till death
Helplessly crying to her
His lonely sobs clash with temperament and hostility
Transferring him off on friends and family
Waiting for her sweet escape, the weekend
My heart splinters
Kind nature mangled; bitterness afflicting my actions towards her
Here, his eyes do twinkle like crystals
Rarely does this precious one cry
Laughing, playing, finally able to be at ease
Able to rest, never being afraid of neglect
In my home he knows he is loved
It shines through his eyes like rays of sunlight
A sad little boy he is,
When tears indicate our farewell…
