So Long; See Ya

So long; see ya
don't want you anymore.

You weren't just my lover
but my best friend as well.
I fell for you the moment we spoke
I didn't see you were such a jerk.

What I didn't know was
that you had someone else.
She was your everything
I think I was just there.

But why spend the cash
and ask me out
when you had her
and I didn't matter.

When you told me
I felt like I was a test
just to make sure
there wasn't someone else
to spend your life with.

Let me tell you though;
I made a mistake
I could see you didn't care
I stayed to say I had someone.

But now I say
'So long; see you
don't want you anymore.'

In the last line dn't is should be don't, as for the poem it's self, I think it is a strong write about and unfortunate situation. I am glad you wrote from a prespective of the woman having the power to change the situation she found herself in and doing so. We are not weak. We can take action to change what we do not like, and our mistakes can be springboards to better things.
