at the most inconvenient times,
riding with Burt Reynolds
in a shiny blue Firebird -
he was driving kind of fast
and I was laughing at the trail of dust in our wake.
well when we slow down and the air clears,
I see you there in leather and lace,
so out of place.
a ridiculous sight for my sore eyes.
and at that exact moment
the earth's mouth opens
and the frame melts into a canyon,
we're all sucked into the ground
in one swift motion,
only to be plunged out in a thunderous crash
from the blue sky above,
silently falling to The Pit below -
we hit the lake, how refreshing,
birds are chirping,
we are staring at each other.
the lace really doesn't suit you
and I laugh in spite of myself;
brushing wet hair off my face.
you catch me wiggling my nose
like Samantha in Bewitched,
and yes I still do that when I'm nervous.
we almost have a moment
but then I notice
Burt Reynolds standing on the Firebird
waving his arms, calling us over.
he invites us to the saloon for a shot of whiskey.
I normally wouldn't go
but as you know, it's Burt Reynolds
and hey, I'm only dreaming.

A poem with Burt Reynolds. I never thought I'd read one.
I love that last line. Kinda made me smile.

Very nicely done!
Great job...best of luck in the contest!
Write on!
*PEACE*

Write it out first ...
in Notepad or some other text program and paste it when you've done. That will save a lot of grief.
This is interesting, but it makes me wonder what you had to drink before going to sleep.
