Call me surprised that you walked into this door.
I never imagined this dream to come true.
I thought you were gone, but now you are back.
I need to take a breath and just relax.
I have that guts-to-butterflies feeling because I just can't believe.
I can't believe my heart has its beat again.
Call me surprised that I can feel my feet again.
I never thought I would have a reason to walk.
I thought you'd rather me not come to you.
I need to run into your arms.
I need to embrace you with kisses; I need to set off alarms.
I want to shout, "He's back! He's back!"
I will refrain from giving you that "is my face as red as I think it is" look.
Call me surprised that I can't breathe.
I thought seeing you again would make me gag.
I thought I couldn't really forgive you, but I did.
I need to slow down, but you have pumped my veins with a rush.
I want to give your heart a push.
I can't believe I have that the capacity to love you now.
I love you now.
Call me surprised, but I think you have that capacity too.
Go ahead, give me that heart's-stopped-flame's-burning-deep-down-to-the-toes feeling.
Then, you can really call me surprised!

My gosh. I understand this poem completely! I can actually feel it, and even though this has NEVER happened to me (pathetic, right?) I can feel the feeling. I especially like the title! Thanks so much for entering!
