I met an angel from heaven one day
Shaking my hand most politely he said,
"You may have noticed I arrived by sun ray."
Gazing beyond him there was a halo of red . . .
Graciously he took me on a flight
Beyond the torn sky where angry clouds sing
And the sun pours out its golden light
His grip tightened and my skin began to sting.
Where is your home? I asked the strange soul
"Where you never must go," his voice was a whisper
Then the sky darkened, his eyes like coal
From the heavens a star he stole.
Panic fleeted in my heart and I began to scream
"You must not fear, little one," murmured glass
Slowly I glanced at the eyes; scarlet gleam
What is happening? Through black we began to pass . . .
Then we landed lightly on solid stone
"I am Ending," the angel told me, eyes aglow
"For so long have I been alone."
Shuddering I thought, where must I go?
"Come with me to the depths, little one."
Then the dark began to overshadow the sun . . .
Ripping and agony, I was undone . . .
This is the Ending, when Ending himself
beckoned, "Come."

Wow. Very creepy. I have to say, it freaked me out a little. Wasn't really expecting that end. But this is a great poem. Very well thought out, and well written. I love it. Thank you for entering my contest and good luck!!!
