Elation

Walking through an emerald green meadow,
savoring the scents of lavender and lilac
while the turquoise sky lifts the spirit
until you feel yourself a cloud
floating in a calm carefree current.

Someone in the back of the mind
are the faint echoes of thunder,
but they never shudder the senses
as long as we can drink all the beauty
without and within.

Storms pass and leave their puddles,
however, mercy's wind dries them
so we can embrace what in life
adorns with the very joy of being.

Celebrating each sunrise
knowing it is a gift,
opened with the anticipation
something precious resides inside.

Warmed in the majesty and splendor
found by searching eyes
capturing smiles in all the places
elation whispers its soft song of happy.
