Truthless

Spring never felt so defying.
While time herself seemed to die,
The light grew brighter with the lie,
The lie that masked all truth behind,
Behind a wall that none could find-
The flowers grew as the world had known,
The trees replenished their forsaken leaves,
The sun shook away his layer of frost,
And the sky had answered the grass’ pleas-
A dancer twirled atop the daises,
Happier than she’d ever be,
Her kitten pounced beside her dress,
To kill the creatures none could see,

It was almost like a glorious dream,
The dancer and her kitten spun in perfect harmony,

The green souls grew even higher,
The flowers blossomed more than ever,
The sun became fierce and violent,
Summer seemed to take forever.
The dancer seized to prance at all,
Her body was tired and sick of light,
Water was an unending lust,
Her kitten withered in her sight-
The two companions grew tired and hot,
Their loving bond had turned to hate,
Smiles inverted horridly,
To question their undying fate,

It was like a reoccurring dream,
A broken record that simply wouldn’t silence,

The sun eventually gave up its course,
And slowly drifted from Hellion heat,
To where the duo felt alive,
Just before their own defeat,
But then their minds began to wander,
The kitten lost in its quiet place,
The dancer felt nostalgia,
The seasons walked a dragging pace,
They wanted Spring to live again,
To feel that perfect harmony,
Where the cat and girl loved each other,
Emotions untouched by the weather,

It was like a dream in déjà vu,
Nostalgic, melancholic loss,

And then the season of death arose,
Winter whispered through the air,
The kitten’s fear grew with every second,
The girl’s emotions fell to despair,
Razors felt her perfect skin,
Blood speckled the kitten’s fur,
Death became a violent lust,
A longing only hate could stir,
She killed the cat with pleasure,
Then cut along her thoughts,
Bleeding out the pain,
To let her spirit rot,

It was like a brutal nightmare,
Bloody, screaming massacre,

Winter ended with perfect closure,
Sealing away the evil in time,
The girl’s sorrow faded to nothing,
And joy returned to wait in line-
Again she danced among the daises,
The kitten laying at her side,
Lifeless, yet still protecting its killer,
For its killer was all the kitten knew.
A day thereafter, the dancer left,
To obtain a new, trustworthy friend,
A puppy to join her in the dance,
To prance in the eyes of death again.

I made a poem about a kitten that died? What was I thinking?

I just read this and started crying. It still makes me sad. But I think this is one of my favorites. I love this part- "Her kitten pounced beside her dress,
To kill the creatures none could see".
