The day hath passed,
Window of our soul gone,
Blades of grass no longer bend,
Perennials slowly wilting,
Life suddenly paused.
Darkness consuming,
Masking scars that still bleed,
Allowing secrets to hide,
Serving as the days pallbearer,
Night brings fear alive.
Waves waive slowly in her glory,
Volcanoes hush in awe,
The cricket waits to dance,
Light controls our path,
The day's work never done.
Shadows stretching,
Painting walls with doubt,
Inadequate feelings give way,
Despair avalanches on nightfall,
Truth obscured.
Dusk and Dawn,
Children of Dark and Light,
Where enlightenment lurks,
The transition divine,
Huddled hearts....
Hold tight, death gives life.
