I don’t know how or when it happened
It was totally unexpected.
But there was a moment in time
When your heart melded with mine.
Something special sparked within
And arced between us.
This became our connection
And we became…
Friends.
From that moment on,
I knew inside my heart
That you were one of my life’s greatest treasures.
Closer than the best of friends,
We were united by love.
This is our lifetime connection
That keeps us deep within each other’s heart.
Ours is a friendship that goes way beyond…
Beyond the heart.
Beyond the love.
Beyond anything in this life.
Sometimes you are just out of reach
And then,
I grasp the essence of who you really are
And for some unknown reason,
You gracefully entwine your heart with mine,
While making an impact upon my life.
You have bcome a very special friend.
An angel in my life
That dashes in and out
And roams around and in between
The beating of my heart.
With a smile
And a light of love glowing within your eyes,
You have made me realize
Just what it means to be…
Friends.
Precious and strong is our bond;
A cherished gift that is built upon
Trust, understanding and an unconditional love
With blessings sent down from above.

Author notes
While I was rambling around out in the poetic desert of life, it was just me, the poetic sand and the silence. Absolute silence. But you know, it's not silent out there, if you know what to listen for. I heard music and words out there that I had never heard before. Music and words that touched my heart and impacted my life as much as this friend and angel has.
I write for myself and above all, I write from my heart!

Thank you. I am glad that it has touched you. The friend I spoke of has no connection with AP. I really can't say that I have made any connections on here like this one. Here lately, most everyone on here seems to want to do is pick me apart both poetically and personally and they don't even know me. All they know about me is what I write and yet, they find great delight in personally tearing me down. Do you know how that makes me feel? You probably do.

Actually, this is for one certain person I call my angel, my friend. She is very special indeed and has impacted my life in ways I'll never know. Sometimes I think we reach far beyond friendship and touch in other ways.
As for the author's notes, sometimes I have to go out into that poetic desert to search my feelings and just listen in order to get the intensity of what I want to say in a poem or lyric. I feel that if I can reach down and touch something in the heart. Then people will read and listen and they will do that because I have something to say, not just something to show.

Thanks for stopping byand reading, commenting and applauding this. I'm glad that you liked it. I decided to go with the straight forward approach on this and telling it like it is. I don't know how it's going to fair in this contest though.
This is my view of my personal connection with a friend of mine. We connect in such a way that it's hard to explain. I mean, we just about know what the other is thinking. Our frinedship goes way beyond anything... I would certainly trust this person with my life if I had too! After all, that is this person 2nd job, being a 1st Responser with the fire department.
Anyway, thanks again.
I'm doing fine. Working on the 2nd book. Well, actually my editor is, I finished the book about a month ago. Now it's in Chester's hands to edit. I wish I could get more of the first one sold. Maybe that will come in time. I don't know. It's just a wait and see process. It's started to cool off here and become more autumn like weather. That means Christmas isn't far around the corner. That used to be such a special holiday to me and anymore I could care less. Don't know what happened there. Hey, take care. Love and hugs...
