A Little Taste of Heaven

twitch
of ears,
whiskers point
to heaven’s scent,
oven door opens
as turkey is pulled out,
placed beside mashed potatoes,
amber eyes watch receding steps,
flick of tail as bolts upwards smart cat,
to snatch first taste of Thanksgiving dinner!
