Stripped to the core
floating in an oceanic abyss
in melancholy strokes
to heart broken shores.
In resonant anguish
simpering nostalgia is absurd
barely grasping to sanity
mind numb, drowning.
Unable to conceive
any rest for sweet memory
misery claws at shawl of reason
as it frays to nonexistence.
There once was a light
so long ago
attempts to retrieve that place
now seems unattainable.
Life now
a graveyard of sorrows
all bones dismembered
in truth decomposing.

Short, sweet and inspiring. I found alot more depth into this poem than the quote offered. The dark auro but the beauty holds well with the imagery.
Some lines drag a little and I reckon you could edit some bits, for more of a quick effect but really either way, the flow is nicely done and really does read beautifully.
