Yellow Ribbon

The ribbon twisted lightly between fingers
Sending lullabies into the bristling wind
Tendrils of hair swept over candy lips
As grass grazed over pale bare legs
Weightless fabric billowed with every sigh
The world stopped moving, she could breathe

Everything in this secluded place could breathe
The dirt that slid between dainty fingers
Dripped back to the ground with an Earthy sigh
Which dangled above green blades, held tightly by the wind
Spinning slowly up to clouded lips
Falling only to climb once again, upon chilly legs

Skin cracked between edges of dry lips
Exposing new flesh to split open and breathe
Chills slid down rosy cheeks and crossed legs
Comfort brought through tips of warm fingers
A deep breath filled tight lungs, letting go, creating wind
Cotton fabric pulled over knobby knees with a heated sigh

The ground held bated breath, waiting for winters sigh
Fall gripped tightly on dry leaves lips
Snowy chill broke through Autumns dry wind
Faded green life enjoying its last chance to breathe
Before frostbite crawled up rooted legs
Chipping through thick bark and branched out fingers

The breeze picked up stretching yellow ribboned legs
Soft neck tickled with threaded sigh
Perfect bow pulled back into place with delicate fingers
Traced over round ribboned lips
Thin sewn silk could easily breathe
Elegantly numbed to winters bending sweep

Paper arms stretched stiffly into feathered wind
Weighted body pulled onto uneasy legs
One final chance, take time to breathe
The dress cradled her bodies saddened sigh
Embraced once more by Autumns golden lips
Secrets would soon be told on frozen windows, with long fingers

Springs radiant fingers would thaw bitter wind
Parched lips would fill as blankets fled cozy legs
The Earth would sigh once again and allow her to breathe

*too many simlar or identical adjectives took me out of the piece. but when i came back to it, i saw there were thematic ties. less is often more when youre trying to set up an atmosphere, a teperature, in your lines.
