The cell
Dark and cold
Only a mattress
Plopped on the floor
Against a padded wall
One blanket
For the not so warmth
I attempt to live as the world
Goes on with out me
There is nothing left for me
Not in the real world
Or in this cell
The light above
Flickers continually
Unsteady until its last flash
Leaving me in the darkness
Of the cell and mind
They say I lost my mind
So I have to be here
Afraid and alone
With just my thoughts
The only company
I will ever have
Alone I continue to remain

Thank you for your submission. Much appreciated. The only company was profound. Just me and my heart.
