I drift along in a summer song
Melodies fill my ears
And drown away our childish fears
But still lies hidden in the shadow of my thoughts
Every one of the sorrow stained tears
I shed over you
The autumn trees bring colors vibrant
To my eyes left dead and silent
Dark and cloudy grows the spot
Where alone I sit with my fearful thought
And as late autumn wind blows
The shadow yet grows
Now all is left barren
My cold eyes yet staring
Lost in the solitude of wintertide
I am left alone, myself beside
Thus fadeth the last glint of hope
I reach, I grab, I grovel, I grope
But the light is now gone
And the shadow is here
You are gone from my mind
My memories left utterly blind
Beauty, truth and fortitude
Have left, and remains only solitude
As the delicate snow falls gently downward
I am left empty; soulless and icy in mind
I lay lost in thought
My head on the frost
I try with all my might
To envision your face just in sight
Even as the spring draws nigh
It's too late for you and I
Through my cold lifeless fingers grows
A red crocus; as red as the blood that once flowed
But in my last waking breath
My head is not consumed by thoughts of death
Instead I focus my eyes through the blur
And I watch as the crocus begins spring's rebirth
My eye has gone pale and I stare at all that it sees
I find myself wondering, why the crocus doth bleed.
