I long to open my window
upon some future landscape,
take in a deep breath
and howl something
in a language
unknown
to all but me.
Then wait
and see
who
or
what
will
come
to visit
and
trade
translations.

Great sci-fi opener. It puts me in mind of my belief that where two truly desire to communicate, they will find a way. Fascinating premise, who or what would answer...and why? Congrats on the gold!

What a greatttttttttttttttttttt beginning... I was absolutely stunned until I read the last
"with a knock-kneed
sackcloth wearing
sexless entity.
"
You know what? This poem woudl be absolutel gold without them.... you do not have to relate it totally to the pictuyre... I have seen it and know it is a knock-kneed sackcloth sexless entity.....
