In a life so new
Before cruel words ring true
Play things set small hearts alight
Before the realization hits & the worlds not right
Teenagers are "cool"
& wrenches are tools
When pirates have booties
& girls still have cooties
Moms cookies are the best
& what the hell is a test
No nervous tapping
"Mom you should be clapping"
Oh! the things you blurt
& its so cute when you flirt
So be cute & have fun
Milk it dry 'Till its done

I love the booties/cooties line. You've hit on a real reality here, but do you have the introspection to understand that all elders feel this way about younger individuals? (Meaning your parents feel this way about you!) Is it any more or less true? This is the teenager prospective... but what about young adults? Middle-agers? The elderly? What trials and tribulations might they face that you are not yet aware of? Also, what do you think the youngest members of society might have to say in response? Certainly, you get more freedom as you age out of childhood, but is the price too high?
Surrender teenage cultural ethnocentrism and you might have a better understanding of what's coming down the pike.
