It is said that, "it takes courage to stand up and speak
and to sit down and listen."
But courage is what you lack
and your confidence too is missin.
It takes courage not just to BELIEVE in God
but to confess with your mouth that you're a christian
It takes confidence not just to follow christ
but to shout, "I don't HAVE a closet religion!"
But if you have confidence and courage
to do all these things and to resist the worldly
then why do you find it so difficult
just to talk to me?
You have the courage to shout Hallelujah
despite what others may think
but when it comes to expressin ya' MIND
suddenly you're afraid to speak.
You say you're scared cause of what I may think
but I say, "Don't be, just be real despite the mind of me."
Gain you CONFIDENCE woman (or man)
I'm not the one who made the earth.
It shouldn't matter what I think, just what I feel
and the fact that you feel you can't TALK to me, kinda hurts.
You've had similar dilemmas
with a couple of past relations
Communication is crucial to every relationship
but for someone so strong you sure can't hold a conversation.
But back to the subject, for real you gotta know
that your silence can be deafening and your relationships won't grow.
GAIN your CONFIDENCE and your COURAGE, to tell me yes or tell me NO!
Especially if you're in a relationship, SPEAK!
will you STAY or will you GO?
Silence is decietful, often mistaken for yes.
if you don't speak on what you think or feel, I would HATE to have to guess.
To guess what you're thinkin and what you're feelin
you puttin MY emotions to the test
AND you MAKE me feel SO un INTERESTIN'.... when you call and be silent
It's also frustratin when you answer my questions and all of a sudden you go quiet.
If your heart or mind is in another place, talk about it just try it.
SPEAK!!!

o wow! Dre this is good. i read it aloud like two good times. do i do that? i think i do, but i talk a little or a lot wants we get to the topic i want to talk about. but again i love this. you did a good job expressing everything in this piece.

but to shout, "I don't HAVE a closet religion!"...That was powerful for me. I've struggled with my beliefs for a while. Only b/c I was struggling and felt that I was left for dead, You know? But this really touched me and it was something I needed to read. thanks for sharing!!!!!

I feel that for real. I don't like talkin to people on the phone and they don't speak their mind. That is the most frustrating thing ever because you know they have something to say, but they won't speak. Great write.
