They say you don’t know what you have
until you lose it.
I can tell you beyond a doubt
this is very true,
but it doesn’t stop there…
The easiest thing to lose
is what you had.
It’s not so easy to lose
what you could've
but didn’t.
A missed opportunity is just that…
missed.
Nothing can change it
no amount of wishing
no amount of pleading.
But the worst thing yet
is that when you’re looking back in sorrow
you’ll miss new opportunities
only to see them
when they’re missed as well.
It’s a terrible cycle
only causing more pain,
but stopping isn’t easy
because to stop looking behind
you have to face forward and take it as it comes.

here's the moral to my story. I just wish I could learn it

i like this and the thought behind it but i think it could use a little smoothing i like how you talk about the worst thing to happen is to be so caught up in ur past you miss the present but i think you could rephrase the last line when they're missed as well... i like it but i wonder if their would be another way you could put it? its a great work

"of all the words of mouth or pen, the saddest are these, it might have been"
