I know your worth . .

Missing image

Have faith . .

Dear Grandma

For I know your worth

Your love

Has quenched

All the bitterness

Frustration and hurt

That the world

Has thrown me

Throughout

My younger life

Now

in my maturity

And your senility

I am here for you

I’ll wipe your chin

As you did mine

And I’ll dry your tears

As you did mine

For you are

Precious

Never think

Not even for a moment

That you are alone

Or that you are

Unloved . .

For you have

Planted your love

Deep in me

And it has grown . .

And together

We have

Ample reserve

Yes Grandma . .

Smile . .

Let our love shine

In your tired eyes . .

Let us just sit . .

Holding hands

Sharing our

bonded love

Don’t be afraid

Dear Grandma

Have faith . .

For I know your worth

This is a beautiful and touching piece of writing, with great sentiment behind your words.

    "Your love
    Has quenched
    All the bitterness
    Frustration and hurt
    That the world
    Has thrown me
    Throughout
    My younger life"

    I love those lines.

Congrats on the bronze. I personally believe that this deserves much more than that but that's just me. I have a very special bond with my grandmother so I truly understood this. By th way the picture was amazing! Well done.

What a heart striking write I wish my gradma Maria was still alive, I really miss her eventhough she almost cut my little finger accidentally, when I stole her caramel candies when I'm just 4, she was then about 75 then .
By the way nice pick of image it brings more life to your poem.

Oh my goodness.... you may or may not know that my birth family found me a year ago..my mother is 90... I have few years to pay her back for the great gift she gave me by giving me to the family that raised me..and now I do holy things for her...
    "Now

    in my maturity

    And your senility

    I am here for you
    "

Though simple in words...it is deep in my knowing.

I thought this was beautiful. It made me think of my own Grandma who has been gone 25 years. Thank you.

Hi baitsoul – Thank you for your comment.
I have been to Alaska – and have written several poems about my travels there.
In fact I was stranded there for a few days on a cruise ship in Glacier Bay when 9/11 happened in U.S.A. It was an interesting place to visit – but I should think it is rather boring to live there . . but I spend most of my time in Hong Kong which is very busy . .

It actually choked me up, and left me mute because I didn't really know how to state my reaction to this poem- all I could say was 'this is beautiful'. I feel the same way towards my grandmother.
