My Salvation - My Savior

I like to praise my Lord and Savior;
Who has done us all an undeserved favor.
He came from heaven above,
To show his own true love.

We are all sons and daughters of Adam and Eve,
And my friend, you had better believe.
They took the great fall and ruined us all,
Because ONE rule they could not follow.

God gave him a garden perfect in every way,
Visited with him day after day.
When God found that wasn’t quite enough,
He made Adam a mate of just the right stuff.

They praised God together all the time;
Had plenty to eat and to pass the time.
All that was needed was to keep that place going;
And to preserve their innocence leave just one food alone.

But old Satan tempted and called God a liar,
But all this did was call down his wrathful fire.
Satan got taken away his legs to crawl on his belly forever more,
Adam and Eve lost everything God had in store.

This carries from generation through generation;
Having with God no proper relation.
Then comes the day God says "ENOUGH",
And sends down a volunteer to smooth out the rough.

Jesus, all man and all God,
Comes down to tread this sinful sod.
His life he lives sinless with nary a mess,
All this to secure our undeserved forgiveness.

His life is lived perfect,
With absolutely no mar.
Just to carry us so far.

So now it comes down to you and me;
The one HE died to set free.
I can’t speak for you but I just deserved hell,
Because I was following in Adam’s disobedient trail.

Of God’s Ten Commandments there were few I have not broken;
One being, an innocent live that I have never taken.
The rest I think I can safely say,
I broke more than once, many times a day.

I lived my life in utter misery,
not knowing what Jesus had done for me.
Then one day, one of God’s sons,
one who had become so by what was free.

He saw me in this terrible mess;
Then asked if I would like having peace and forgivness.
Then he explained what Jesus had done just for me,
To get me out of this misery.

Well sense I had nowhere else to turn,
for such peace my heart did yearn.
He told me of God’s salvation plan,
one that will work for woman or man.

It turned out so simple,
As easy as can be.
I could do nothing myself to set free.

He told me of Jesus and what he had done;
He told me that HE was really God’s son.
I found that Jesus paid for all I did bad;
That HE was the only chance I had.

I just had to accept him and truly believe,
That it was truth, what He’d done for me.
That after his salvation I would start to grow,
In HIS spirit he did want me to know.

I would start as a spiritual babe;
And HE would train me in HIS proper ways.
That the blood he shed on that dreadful day,
Is what washed my terrible sins all away.

This made me pure in Holy God’s sight;
So HE could love me with all of his might.
So, what Jesus suffered on that tree;
Was just so God could clean up – you - and - me.

    This is by far one of the most beautiful poem that I have ever read. Nothing but the truth and thanks be to god.From the beginning to the end. God bless you for writing it in such a way anyone can understand the true way to salvation. Wonderful and you shall be blessed.

    From start to finish.. then and now. Thing's never change. If they hadn't disobeyed we'd never been abused, killed, and so on. The poem is well written and from the heart and Poem's about God need no form. God is the Form.

    Beautiful, really! I liked the title a lot. The poem is also nice. This expresses so much and so well. I really like reading about Adam and Eve, our forefathers, and about Lord Jesus and how he suffered so we could be happy. I found this poem flowed well, just that some lines were too long and sort of threw the poem a bit out of shape. So, my only suggestion would be to trim on those, perhaps to work on the meter, in other words. Otherwise, this is really nice.

    Thank you for entering my contest.

    All the best,
    Charishma

      Hate to nit pick

      But it's more to make God happy by making those of us who accept Christ acceptable to HIM. (God).
      Also, I don't know how to do any more trimming and still say what I wanted to. My origonal name here was " Me a Poet-HA.
      I'm a rank ammature and can't do without even spell check.

    This tells it all from the beginning to the now. It is amazing that they broke just one simple rule, but then apples are very delicious, especially granny smith's. Life is no different today, while peer pressure and keeping up with the Jone's makes us do things we might not do on our own. Others do influence us and we need to let God influence us even more for he has our heart and his heart into the outcome. Rules get broken and I just glad forgiveness is at hand. Thank you for this wonderful entry.
