Lines seduced by stiffness
Straight and parallel,
Smooth but plain –
Somewhere between these lines…life is strained.
Lines caressed by boredom
Perpendicular to commonness,
Accurate yet predictable –
Along these lines…life is miscalculated.
So boldly we need to break free
From these lines of geometry!
Transverse life with a dash of curvedness;
Experience life without a safety net.
Oh living a life away from these lines…
Somehow symmetry is disregarded and
Diversity is applauded.
Author notes
I started writing poetry four years ago and I can't stop it. I hope I could be able to write a novel, too.

Deep message simply put! I love the plays on words you have peppered throughout this piece. Very nice entry! Good luck in the contest!

Interesting you did not even consider curved lines... yes technically just called curves, but line is anything that joins two points. The best part of your poem is the ending. Nice free-write.. You are free to edit on it, but I think it stands perfectly ok as it is. Thanks a lot. Love. Sam.
