My little sister has her bag
And I have the flashlight
She's dressed up, I'm not
Mom won't let me because I'm almost sixteen
I want to cosplay as an anime character
But Mom says I have to watch her
We walk down the road until we come to the first house
On the way the twirp is singing
"Trick or treat, smell my feet
Gove me something good to eat
If you don't I don't care
I'll pull down your underwear"
I punch her in the arm
And tell her to keep quiet
Bobbie Jo walks by
She's dressed as a cow
And she's twenty-eight!
She's not too old, why am I?
She comes and talks to me
We are passed by Harry Potter, Darth Vaders, and even Austin Powers
We go up to the house
Emily holds out her bag and yells "Trick or treat!"
As I stand on the sidewalk and wait for her
Normally she hates me
But when she sees me standing in the cool night air
Wearing no costume but a jacket over my clothes
She turns and asks the people
For an extra candy
"It's for my sister" she says
I don't understand why she does this
She can't stand me
Yet she gets me extra candy anyway
She gives me a Ziploc baggie she stole from the kitchen
And puts the candy inside
And gives it to me
The night gets even cooler
But neither of us mind
Halloween is the only time either of us really seem to get along
Just as good as a Hershey bar
I open it
And pop a piece into my mouth as I walk
And savor the taste that I wouldn't have without her there next to me
Trick or treat.

Ahhh the fun of taking the younger sister or brother somewhere, especially on Halloween. The aga diffrence alone can be a problem, but it seems it all works out just fine in the end, both of you are somewhat happy and you learn a small lesson from the little one. Thank you for your entry, best wishes, Ken IBT
