Daring the object of my fear,
Beat me; crush me,
take from me my spirit.
Reaching through the place of dreams,
Touching your spirit,
Your thoughts,
Your soul.
Defying with my life essence,
Screaming,
Go ahead, do it.
Understanding we are one,
Awareness envelopes my being,
I am not myself, not you,
I am We.
Standing in the doorway,
Crunch of fist against bone,
Teeth breaking, flying out.
Pure exultation,
Which I felt before birth,
Exists now,
In you.
Picking myself up,
Hearing "Clean your mouth."
Knowing I have not been crushed.
Author notes
This is actually two separate poems, combined to flow as one piece. It is not a PW, as I just now typed it up. The two main themes are Abuse, and Love.

This is meaningful and has a tendency of truth in it which poetry lends itself to. Well done. Nice to AP meet you. Anthony.

Thank you. I find it serendipitous that it has been a year since I wrote this, nearly so since my last logon, and that the morning I decide to do so, you send a comment. Coolbeans! I agree, its the essence of poetry to connect the truths in humanity. Nice to meet you as well!

Thank you! I found it rather fun! I apologize for not thanking you sooner, however, haven't had much of a chance since writing that one to get online, and only just saw today that I received an honorable win. Thanks!
