A Storm's Coming

I miss you, love.
We’re fading,
And it is not
The slow,
Natural,
Inconsequential drifting
Of an iceberg,
Or of waves eroding
Sandy shores,
But the big kind;
The cataclysmic,
Leave-you-breathless
Sort of breaking,
Like a feather
Atop an exploding bomb
Or a tree falling
Lifeless
To the ground
As the thunder
Claps
And the rain
Pours
Down.

This is a really good poem. My favorite lines would have to be: Or a tree falling
    Lifeless
    To the ground
    As the thunder
    Claps
    And the rain
    Pours
    Down.

    Good luck in the contest.
