3 AM star-gazer,
little girl, does anyone know you're out here?
you prefer to be alone
your dreams climbing their way to the sky
as you lay there numb
the bitter cold of rejection
still looming in your mind
and it wasn't spoken, no
but you know when you're unwanted
you know when it's time to leave the world behind
if only for the shortest time
climb you're way up here dear
the stars aren't leaving for a while
they'll be your comfort as always
rooftop dreamer

Beautiful + sad = magical in this case. Great job! How comforting to know that this little girl has a constructive escape to rejuvenate her spirit! Good luck in the contest!
