Some might feel
that the colour of peace
must be . . Red
The red of the enemies blood
Some would insist it must be
Red White and Blue . .
Displayed to the sound
of regimental bugles
Whilst others might suggest
The powder blue
of distant horizons
Where hazy seas
meet fading skies
Poets might muse
Of peace being cloaked
in the Gold . .
of the evening sunset
Realist would insist
it should be white . .
Unblemished
Pure as driven snow
Naturalists
would demand
Green –
Which is
God’s own color
But in truth peace . .
It should be
Transparent . .
Totally clear
No subterfuge,
no deceptions
no hidden intentions
Peace should be as clear
as thirst quenching water
from a mountain stream
And as clean as the fresh air
On a spring morning
In this age . .
Peace must surly be
Colorless. . .
