Life consumed in chasing dollars
clawing for countless sums,
but when the heart
is bleeding
from being empty
and apart your love,
a single quarter
for making a pay phone call
when your cell phone is dead,
just to hear the voice
of the one who holds your heart
it is a fortune.

I found it poignant how the 'fortune' you spoke of was spent in reaching out to hear a voice of the beloved, not for food for the body...beautiful. Peace, Rhonda
