Love is Like a Red, Red Rose

You’ve all heard the old saying I’m sure, “ My love is like a red red rose.”
I can imagine a florist saying it close to Valentine’s Day, and saying that he could almost smell it coming with his nose.
I think the real reason that roses speak of love
because they are so beautiful.
And don’t forget, every colour means something,
I had no ides that they were so colorful.
Red, means love, respect and courage, which I just learned for myself, just don’t put them up on a shelf.
The white rose means, reverence, purity, innocence and secrecy.
Red and white on the same bloom means unity.
Pink and peach means gratitude, appreciation,
admiration and sympathy, according to ancient
prophecy.
And finally,the famous yellow rose, means, joy, gladness, freedom and friendship.
So there you have it my friends, the meaning of the colour of you’re favorite rose, the next time
You go to take ownership.

Awesome writing. A perfect piece on the humble rose.
When I was younger I was fascinated with all the different colours.
When I took a couple of peach roses to my mothers funeral, at the time I didn't know what they meant, I later found out and was touched they were the ones I went for.
It couldn't have been more fitting to place flowers that stand for gratitude and appreciation, on her coffin.
A beautiful write, that says it all

Why thanks so much for you're very kind words about my poem. I always try to do my research about my topic, Whatever it is ! I love roses, but I couldn't grow a rosebush if I tried ! Man you realy need to have a green thumb to grow a rose bush. -
