Renee, the Griffin

On a high peak, above the plains and prairie,
By a flat rock, rising above a river,
Beyond the day, in a dark and drizzled
Cave, the once keeper of cubs,
Watchful in her weal, wise and true,
Her age-sharp gaze raking the land,
The griffin stands guard, greeting
The day, its dance-dallying newborn
Sunmotes, its suspiring songbirds winging
Between unfurling flowers, finding
The wealth of wing-gliding wonders,
As she once discovered, the expansive above,
The cloud-kissing passion of coitus,
The sky-scraping thoughts soaring
To the limit, the painted line of logic
Separating outer space from sky,
And beyond, bringing back a vision,
She now croons, crafting and coaxing a sound
Into a glimpse of a gamboling goddess.

Nature applies to this lovely lady, and how beautifully you entwine both here in your poem!
I believe you have described her spirit very well.

A very fitting tribute indeed. This is wondrous! I recently discovered my roots and they have wings. LOL Let me explain. I am 1/8 Choctaw. My great-grandfather was a medicine man who wore the feathers of eagles. As a child I found myself flying in my dreams often. You have me lifted in this poem. I am touching the air in the firmament. I feel that with what is written here. I love this poem my friend and I am ever grateful that you felt compelled to leave it in this tribute contest for me. You make me know that my journey forward is so worth it. You make me also know that I am worthy of that journey. I thank you from the very core of me. This is beauteous! I am honored to call you Friend!

Much Love & Many Blessings ♥
