Thoughts from Upon a Stone-- Collab with Soulful Woman

Missing image
A thousand lovers have walked these sands
with hands entwined and minds infused with future
as unfettered feet left playful prints
along the winding line of shore's foaming edge.

A thousand gulls with bellies full of young
have rested weary wing in spring
upon this aged rock, hewn from mountain
by earth shaken, yet solid still.

A thousand ships have sipped this wind
through ardent, masted straws
from massive concave cups of cloth
till wooed in drunkenness to harbor.

Yet I,

I look into the hollowness of hope
Seeking the beauty of your whispers
to rise as mist from off the crests
of this same sea--
Steady with the flow of continuance,

Left only
to visualize your face

in the clouds.

    wonderful piece!

thanks for the comment on "you i desire", it's not one of my best, there are some that are much more erotic than that one! hehehe

i loved the way you took this piece from a poem about nature and twisted it to yourself... i like twists!

    keep on penning!

Lovely collab! Lots of Lovely aLliterations! An enjoyable read. I especially enjoyed Stza 1 L3, and all of the third stanza--beautiful sea-faring images! Melancholy "hollowness of hope/seeking the beauty of your whispers". Final 3 lines, strong finish. Very nice! Congrats on the bronze!

Beautiful evocative sound to this poem. Your voices meld together like voices of ancients.

Of all the thousands of voices... I hear one... of all the thousands of faces, I see one....

this touched me in a holy harbor.
