Two dragons fly high
in the sky
one is a beautiful greeen
and this one is young and
restless
the other is a chocolate brown
he is wise and stubborn.
The green dragon flies close to
the ground
afraid to fly.
The brown dragon soars higher
and higher.
The green loses sight of
the other and cries out
for him.
The brown dragon assures
the green that he has taught
her all he knew and must
move on.
But promises to watch over her
and protect her from harm.
Now she is lost without him
in a whirlwind of damnation
and torment
but sometimes she finds him
but it is only an illusion.
Author notes
This is a dedication to my cousin Chris who was my wise dragon. The one thing that brought us together will always tear me apart

Holy shnit. Can you say "tears"?
He does (did?) sound like the brown dragon.
I don't know how many times I have to say this, but I miss him.
We've been trying so hard to find our way without him, Green Dragon, but it seems to be getting worse every day. I hope we can learn to survive. -
Thats an interesting way of looking at it. The use of the descriptions really bumps it up a notch, adding a wonderful illusion to it.
I love the last two lines, very powerful.
Its a wonderful dedication. Very, very well done.
(Good luck in the competition!)

I loved it!
I can see how this poem resembles an important person in real life. I know what it's like to be close to someone, yet feel so far away.
